History

South Wigston Methodist Church was formed from the amalgamation of the Primitive Methodist Church in Countesthorpe Road, and the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Blaby Road. In 1967 the Primitive Methodist Church was closed and sold. The money raised was used to transform the interior of the Wesleyan Church which was renamed South Wigston Methodist Church. The dedication service for the new church was held on 14th April 1971.
